About Me
I have always loved fashion. As a little girl, I remember watching my grandmothers get ready for church on Sundays and my mom and aunties get dressed from head-to-toe to go the club on Saturdays. As I grew older, my fascination with fashion grew. I was the one who people always called when they needed advice or help finding something to wear for a special occasion.

I began building my career in retail at the age of 18. I gained experience in all aspects of the industry, from stocking inventory to sales to creating window and other visual displays. I even dressed models for fashion shows.
Working in retail provided me with flexibility to be able to take care of my children while earning a good living. However, I always held the dream of owning my own business.

In 2016, I decided to turn my dream into a reality and start LaTina’s Style of Elegance. I wanted to be able to completely own the whole process of doing what I love: helping people find the perfect outfit and accessories to make them feel special, whether they are looking for an outfit for work or for a night out on the town. That’s my passion, a dream I feel blessed to be able to follow.

From initially selling out of my car at events in the Portland metro area such as Good in the Hood, I expanded into a mobile bus in May 2021. Then, in May 2022, I was able to open a brick-and-mortar storefront boutique.
In filling the racks and shelves at LaTina’s Style of Elegance Boutique, I go the extra mile to find unique fashions and signature designs that will help you stand out in a crowd. I personally select each clothing item, handbag and necklace I carry in my boutique and only insist on quality items made with the finest detail. I take special pride in carrying items not found in other boutiques.

Although a large amount of my past career time was spent as a professional in the medical field, I’ve found my niche as an entrepreneur working in the world of fashion. It is a role that lets me help others while paying tribute to my mother, who ran a successful flower shop, and my grandmother, who owned a popular café. Both of their businesses were located on Northeast Alberta Street in Portland, Oregon, and I am proud to continue that family tradition by having my own business located on the same street – and in the same neighborhood where I grew up. Stop by and see for yourself what LaTina’s Style of Elegance has to offer. Or schedule a special event with our mobile boutique service.
